HRV measurement around the clock?
Question: Why is the 24-hour measurement of HRV not shown in the app? It only shows measurements from throughout the night. I have a Forerunner 265s watch.
Answer: None of the measuring instruments that I know of give you an HRV measurement during the day. But they all use HRV as the most important ingredient in their stress numbers. Most meters give you the HRV number throughout the night. The reason is probably that there are too many variables with movement etc. during the day, so that an HRV figure from daytime does not provide correspondingly useful information. Instead of using HRV, Firstbeat https://www.firstbeat.com/en/ has created Garmin’s calculations that give us the stress level, which in turn provides the basis for the body battery – and which will be a better starting point.
